"Push Presents" she'll actually love

First off, what is a push present? To put it frankly, it’s a gift given to a woman (typically from her partner) as a thank you for giving birth. Influencers and celebrities will have you thinking the gift needs to be something extravagant, like a new car or a trip to Paris, but most moms just want to feel appreciated. Here is our guide to push presents for any budget.

1. A subscription box

This is my go-to recommendation for a push present because it's the gift that keeps on giving throughout her postpartum journey. If you can swing it, a year-long subscription will ensure she feels appreciated for her baby's entire first year of life! Bonus points if you go with something where she can pick out her own items, like FabFitFun

2. Jewelry with your baby's birthstone

No one said the gift had to be delivered right after she gives birth. Find a necklace or ring you like in advance and then finalize the stone once the baby arrives! Thoughtful and beautiful, this one is sure to bring tears.

3. A gift engraved with the baby’s name

The list is endless: a bracelet, a picture frame, a music box, etc. There is no gift great enough to repay the gift of life, so finding something that honors what she's done can mean a lot. A special keepsake like this will most definitely be appreciated. Don't know baby's name yet? We can help with that

4. A spa certificate

Once she’s feeling up to it, she can take some much-needed time to relax. After all, her body has been through (and is still going through) a lot. Not a spa girl? A certificate to her favorite nail or hair salon also works!

5. Something she uses all the time that needs to be replaced

A favorite robe or pair of slippers? A go-to blanket? My husband opted for a new iPad. Something I use daily but hadn’t upgraded in 7 years. When you're in the newborn trenches, practicality is a must.

6. Quality beauty items to pamper herself

Being postpartum is...gross. Anything she can have to help her feel more human goes such a long way! Here is my favorite nighttime moisturizer, eyebrow gel, dry shampoo, and leave-in conditioner to help you get started. Trust me on these.

7. Book a family photoshoot (for a few months into the future)

This gift is especially great if you’re able to include a new outfit, photo book, or hair and makeup appointment. Just make sure it's at least a few months postpartum so she can feel her best.

8. A photo book of her maternity photos or time being pregnant

If she doesn't already have plans to document the journey, you should do it for her! Even if she hated pregnancy, she'll likely want to look back on the memories as her baby grows.

9. A beautiful handwritten letter about how much you love her

Pair it with anything you want - her favorite coffee, flowers, dinner. If you go with flowers, consider buying a real, preserved bouquet so she doesn't need to worry about watering them with a newborn, and she can keep them forever!

10. Concert or theatre tickets to a show she wants to see

Experiences make great gifts, especially when you know it's something the recipient has been wanting to do! Just make sure she'll be able to attend and help her arrange for childcare.
